Taking the time and listening to patients is the heart of Thrive Wellness. I’ve been a nurse for almost 20 years and have been a nurse practitioner for the last 13 years. I have seen people treated with traditional medicine and not get better. Even on “optimal” medications and treatment regimens my patients’ health either plateaued or continued to worsen. After my wife and I (my wife being the driving force) was introduced to the book Eat to Live by Dr. Joel Fuhrman, we changed our lifestyle in a major way by transitioning to a more whole foods, plant-based diet. The results we experienced were amazing! We both lost weight and felt better than we had in years. I began to incorporate lifestyle modifications in how I treated my patients and saw huge improvements in a very short amount of time. I wanted to continue helping people through lifestyle modifications and nutrition education.
